In this 90 min seminar, Shelley Wang, President WAC Lighting and Norm Brown CLC, will discuss the opportunity of how to create lighting that is more sustainable and energy efficient while also being beautiful and high quality using the newest light-emitting diode (LED) products on the market. Don’t be Mis-LED?Learn how to be an informed buyer of LED lighting. Lighting applications that use light-emitting diodes are referred to as solid-state lighting (SSL). According to the U.S. Department of Energy, by 2025, SSL could displace general illumination light sources such as incandescent and fluorescent lamps, decreasing national energy consumption for lighting by 29 percent.

About Shelley Wang

WAC Lighting President Shelley Wang is a graduate of Cornell University.Described by her peers as ‘Intelligent, Articulate and Responsible,’ Ms. Wang has earned a reputation as a socially conscious and visionary leader. She launched the company’s Responsible Lighting campaign, which highlights a commitment to responsible manufacturing practices and energy efficient technology, as well as providing opportunities for those who are less fortunate.
She also co-organized the American Lighting Association’s Youth Initiative and is active with the American Institute of Architects, National Association of Electrical Distributors, Illuminating Engineering Society of North American and National Executives of Women in Hospitality. Ms. Wang also serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Asian Women’s Center, which helps Asian women and their children to overcome violence, raise public awareness about domestic violence, advocate for the rights of battered women, and create an agenda for social change.
